2. Chapter 1: Factors Determining AgilityDescribe speed, agility, and quickness training and its purpose. Rationalize the importance of speed, agility, and quickness training. Design a speed, agility, and quickness training program for athletes at any level of training. Perform, describe, and instruct various speed, agility, and quickness training exercises. |
3. Chapter 2: Factors Determining QuicknessSpeed, agility, and quickness all involve learned motor skills. |
4. Chapter 3: Testing Agility and QuicknessSpeed of movement greatly affects an athlete’s abilities in regards to linear speed, agility/MDS, and quickness. |
5. Chapter 4: Agility DrillsGeneral movement patterns (e.g., running, jumping, throwing) are used to develop strength and power. |
6. Chapter 5: Quickness DrillsA common means of adding neuromuscular load to movement drills is by applying the concepts of resisted and assisted speed. |
7. Chapter 6: Agility and Quickness Program DesignAgility/MDS training often closely resembles the actual sporting activity and may, therefore, be the most effective way to address neuromuscular demands required to perform sport specific skills |
